Gastric diverticula are rare in the surgical pathology and is usually asymptomatic. Their discovery is in most cases incidentally, on radiographic examination or autopsy. The most frequent localization is on the posterior wall of the cardia and on the lesser curvature of the stomach. Symptomatic gastric diverticula are rare, mainly occurring in patients between 20 and 60 years of age.
