Signs of ankylosing spondylitis and L4/L5 irregular, sclerotic endplates changes are seen. Minor anterior slipping of L5 vertebral body is olso detected according to instability. Note the gross lower lumbar facet osteoarthritis. |

T1w, T2w, T2w STIR Sag: The L4/L5 disc is hypointense on T1 weighted and hyperintense on STIR images. Often linear hyperintensities can be noted between the anulus fibrosus and nucleus pulposus. This signal change refer to disc related inflammation due to spondylarthritis. |
