T2w FS Cor: single remained fibre of the supraspinatus tendon

PD Cor: retraction of the muscle belly

Most of the supraspinatous tendon appears to be completely torn and retracted by about 3 cm, but hasn’t gone beyond the level of the glenoid labrum. A crater-like bony defect was also seen at its insertion in the greater tuberosity with mild underlying marrow oedema, which suggests that it avulsed from its insertion.
The supraspinatous muscle returns normal signal pattern, with no apparent fibrofatty infiltration.
